RecallPlus Add Graphic Mode

You are currently in the Add Graphic mode. Using the functions available here you can add drawings, images, and even audio visual files to help make your cards more memorable.

It is important to realise that all graphics must be associated with a textbox.

Each textbox is designed to contain an idea to be learnt, and any additional objects on a card should compliment the idea in a way which will help you recall the idea in the future.

You can elect whether or not you want objects associated with a textbox to move when you move the textbox.
By default, objects DO NOT move when you move their textbox. You can change this from learning mode ("Move Relative Y/N" from the right click list of options).

You can see which textbox you are adding images and drawings to at any time by taking note of the textbox in a flashing red dotted box.
You can change that textbox, by RIGHT clicking on whichever one you would like to change to.

GRAPHICS
Graphics are the images associated with textboxes. Ideally they act as a visual memory aid to help you to learn and recall the information or idea contained in that textbox.
Graphics can be...
Drawings - free hand drawings, lines, arrows, rectangles or circles.
Labels - text outside a textbox, such as numbers to link ideas in order more visually than using the connects alone.
Images - pictures or AV material such as video or audio.

BACKGROUND
The background of a card is a blank area where there is no textbox, connect or graphic item.

Entering Add Graphic Mode

To enter Add Graphic Mode from Learning Mode right click on one of the text boxes and select "Add Graphic" from the options list.
To enter Add Graphic Mode from Editing Mode click on the "Add Graphics" button on the editing toolbar.

Adding Drawings

These are the tools you can use to draw in RecallPlus

To change the color and width of your lines

Do this using the color box on the top right of the Graphics toolbar in Add Graphics mode.
Color can be selected from the squares shown, or by clicking "other color" to the left of the color box for more colors.
To change the Pen width select from the numbers in the drop down box on the graphics toolbar. The higher the number the thicker the line.
Once you have selected a pen color and width you must click in the textbox the new drawing is to be associated with.

The "Fill" Function

Rectangles and circles can be created either empty (fill off) or solid (fill on).
You can fill in other objects you have draw from learning mode. To do this, while in learning mode, right click on the object and select "Fill On/Off".
Obviously this will work better with some shapes than others

Adding Other Types of Graphics

Labels

To add a label, click on the Add LABEL button in the graphics toolbar. You will be asked for:
Label Text
Label text size (smallest font = 1, no upper limit)
Angle of text

Pictures, Sound and Video

All of these items can be added by inserting files in association with textboxes on a card.
To add them, click the "Add IMAGE" button from the graphics mode toolbar and follow the instructions.
You can add a file already associated with the current chapter, choose a file from another (open) chapter, or browse your computer for the appropriate file.
